Once again, we’re very lucky to be able to offer this amazing workshop.
Our wonderful tutor Ngaio Tuari, our kaiwhatu, weaver, guides us through the traditional and spiritual methods of gathering the harakeke, preparing it for weaving, dyeing and working into kete and other useful or just plain beautiful Maori objects.
Who needs plastic bags when you can take a kete shopping !
Any skill level welcome, we love this course.
The final 2 days of the course will be spent as guests of Onuku Marae.
We’ll be having a noho – a sleepover to make the most of this very special immersive opportunity, register soon – places are limited.
NB. ACAC course fees are normally payable at the time of registration. We recognise that may not be possible for families in the current economic climate in NZ. Please contact us if you’d like to attend and pay the fee weekly.
