Life drawing in the spirit of Rongoā Māori.
Sunday 23rd March 2025.
1030am to 4pm in the beautiful gardens of Blythcliffe.
$50 for the day,
Rongoā is a traditional Māori healing system.
It involves the use of native plant-based remedies (rongoā rākau), massage (mirimiri) and spiritual healing through prayer (karakia).
Rongoā is about wellbeing, the wellbeing of the person, the whenua(land), the soil and the water flowing through the whenua.
Our wonderful model wishes to share her knowledge of Rongoā rākau during our life drawing day.
She will prepare plants from our garden as an added interest to your drawings.
All levels of artists come to these wonderful gatherings – absolute beginners and the accomplished.
Lets make the most of our last summer days – do come and join us for this very special occasion. We are a self-supporting group, beginners can get help and tutelage from the more experienced.
Paper, charcoals, easels, clay and the model are supplied.
Draw, paint or sculpt, whatever you like for the whole day !
