ACAC is thrilled to be a part of Akaroa French Festival for the third time – we love this gig!
John Harding will again write and direct the play and Lesley Burkes-Harding will costume everyone in glorious period detail.
If you haven’t seen the play before, we tell the stories of all settlers who came to call our beautiful Banks Peninsula/Horomaka home. Maori/Mana Whenua, followed by the first European settlers – salty old whalers and those first intrepid souls that sailed from France and Germany in 1840 on the Comte de Paris.
Of course you don’t have to be in the play- please come and watch; we present a fun living history performance with music from the Wellington Sea Shanty Society and repeat performances from our dear friends Michael Hurst, Jennifer Ward-Lealand and Christchurch’s own Mulletman – aka Nathan Bonner as the adventurous Captain Langlois.
Bring a beach chair, a blanket and possibly a raincoat in case of inclement weather. A nice hottie is a great idea also – we start at 8.30 and it is October in Akaroa!
If you’d like to represent your ancestors in the play (or someone else’s!) please see the attachment below for further information and contact Lesley on
See you there!
