Encouraged by the tremendous success and enthusiastic support of parents and kids from Easel-ly Arty 2019, on we go with our children’s drawing programme. Tutored by local super-experienced artists and kids’ tutors, we aim to give kids who love to draw some help in how to draw better.
For our April workshop, we’re excited to be working with Saskia van Voorn, an internationally recognised, local artist and experienced children’s art teacher; as well as working with Akaroa Museum. On day one, Daniel Smith, the museum collections manager will show the kids around some museum objects and explains – what exactly is a taonga?
The kids will then set to and draw the objects of their choice, encouraged and tutored by the wonderful Saskia.
Day two we’ll be in the Presbyterian Hall drawing our own taonga, Saskia will encourage the kids to imagine what their own taonga of their future selves might be – let’s imagine those items and draw!!
